The setup, in five lines

Providence Friars: The setup, in five lines

  • A device: Fire TV, Android TV or Google TV, Apple TV, a Samsung or LG TV, or a phone
  • Internet: about 10 Mbps per HD screen, 25 Mbps for 4K
  • A plan: $24.99 for one month, $125 for a full year
  • Your login: sent over WhatsApp, usually within 60 seconds
  • Optional: a soundbar, because crowd noise matters

Watching from away

Fans in Providence, Rhode Island and fans who moved away see the same channel list, because IPTV Strong 8K doesn't change the lineup by ZIP code. That matters most to out-of-market fans, who usually lose the local broadcast when they leave town. The Rhode Island page covers internet speeds and time-zone settings for the whole state.

Game-day checklist for Providence Friars fans

  • Favorite FOX, Fox Sports 1, and ESPN before the season opener.
  • Plug in Ethernet, or keep the router within one room of the TV.
  • Check start times in the guide, which follows your device clock, rather than a schedule printed in another time zone.
  • Open the channel ten minutes early; pregame traffic is when weak Wi-Fi shows up.

Providence Friars through the season

Expect NCAAB on your screen from Nov through Apr. Regular-season games spread across the national channels and the regional feed; postseason games move almost entirely to national TV.
