The Fire TV Stick 4K Max decodes 4K, so 4K feeds play at full resolution on a 4K screen. A ball climbing against a bright sky is the real test, and a 60fps feed handles it. Prepaid means no renewal surprises, and the 7-day money-back guarantee means the first week carries no risk.

The setup, in order
PGA on Fire TV Stick 4K Max: The setup, in order
- Pick a plan length, send the order on WhatsApp, and keep the reply open: it holds the server URL, username and password.
- Search for TiviMate from the Fire TV home screen. If the Amazon Appstore doesn't list it, install the free Downloader app, allow it to install unknown apps, and enter the download address published by the TiviMate developer.
- Select Add user or Add playlist in TiviMate, choose Xtream Codes, and fill in the three fields from your login message: server URL with its port, username, password.
- Open the Sports group and add Golf Channel, CBS, and NBC to favorites.
- Play one of those channels for a few minutes well before the first tee time to confirm the picture is steady.
Picture settings that matter
On recent Fire TV models, turn on Match original frame rate in the display settings, so 60fps golf isn't converted to the TV's default rate. Keep the stick on 5 GHz Wi-Fi or an Ethernet adapter; a ball climbing against a bright sky is the first thing to stutter on a weak signal.
Tips for PGA day
PGA on Fire TV Stick 4K Max: Tips for PGA day
- Ball flight against a bright sky is hard on compression, so a stable HD feed beats a stuttering 4K one.
- Coverage runs for hours; catch-up lets you join in time for the final groups.
- Turn off motion smoothing; slow pans across the fairway look more natural without it.
- Major weekends use more than one channel across the day; check which has the early and late windows.
When the picture misbehaves
PGA on Fire TV Stick 4K Max: When the picture misbehaves
- Drop from the 4K to the HD version of the channel; it needs less than half the bandwidth.
- Restart the player at a break in play; it clears most freezes in under a minute.
- Run a speed test on the Fire TV Stick 4K Max. Under 25 Mbps, stick with HD for PGA.
