How to watch

4K is no problem for the Fire TV Stick 4K Max; give it a 25 Mbps connection and a 4K TV and the sharper feeds hold up. For horse racing, frame rate matters as much as resolution. If it doesn't suit you, the 7-day money-back guarantee applies, and because plans are prepaid there's nothing to cancel later.

  • Order on WhatsApp from the buy page. Your login details come back in the same chat, usually within a minute.
  • Look for TiviMate in the Amazon Appstore first. No listing? Open Downloader, type the developer's official download address, install the file, and let Downloader delete the leftover APK to save space.
  • Select Add user or Add playlist in TiviMate, choose Xtream Codes, and fill in the three fields from your login message: server URL with its port, username, password.
  • Open the Sports group and add NBC, FOX, and FanDuel TV to favorites.
  • Play one of those channels for a few minutes well before post time to confirm the picture is steady.

  • Player: TiviMate (paid)
  • Plan on about 10 Mbps for each HD stream and 25 Mbps for each 4K stream
  • Channels to favorite: NBC, FOX, and FanDuel TV
  • Plan: from $10.42/month on the 12-month plan, or $24.99 for one month

Picture settings that matter

On recent Fire TV models, turn on Match original frame rate in the display settings, so 60fps horse racing isn't converted to the TV's default rate. Keep the stick on 5 GHz Wi-Fi or an Ethernet adapter; a field of horses at full gallop along the rail is the first thing to stutter on a weak signal.

When the picture misbehaves

  • Drop from the 4K to the HD version of the channel; it needs less than half the bandwidth.
  • Pause other downloads and video calls in the house during the broadcast.
