MTV at a glance

MTV at a glance Checklist

  • Where to find it: the Music group in your channel list
  • Network family: Paramount
  • Resolution: HD by default, with 4K versions where the source exists
  • TV guide: program titles and times, with EPG coverage across roughly 99% of the lineup
  • Catch-up: up to 7 days back where the channel supports it
  • Cost: included in all 4 plans, no add-on

What you'll see on screen

Once you sign in, the player sorts channels into groups. MTV sits under Music; typing the first few letters into search gets you there faster than scrolling. The guide row shows what's on now and what's next, and a long press on the channel (or the menu button, depending on the app) adds it to favorites.

Getting more out of MTV

Getting more out of MTV Checklist

  • The on-demand library adds full concert films and music documentaries.
  • Music video blocks make good background TV for a party; favorites keep them one click away.
  • Run the TV audio through a soundbar or receiver; music channels are where better sound pays off.
  • Keep the player app updated; guide and playback fixes arrive through updates.

Up and running in about five minutes

Pick a plan on the pricing page and order on WhatsApp; the login arrives in about 60 seconds. Install a player such as TiviMate or IPTV Smarters Pro (on Samsung and LG TVs, an app like IBO Player). Enter the server URL, username and password, and MTV shows up with the rest of the Music group.

Quick fixes for common problems

MTV: Quick fixes for common problems

  • "Authorization failed": re-enter the login exactly as sent, including http:// and the port in the server URL.
  • Plays for a minute, then freezes: run a speed test on the TV itself. Under about 25 Mbps, choose the HD version of the channel instead of 4K.
  • Sound but no picture: switch the player's decoder between hardware and software in its settings.

CMT, BET Jams, MTV Hits, and BET Soul sit in the same music group, and all of them come with the same IPTV Strong 8K plan. The group page lists the rest.

FAQ

Questions About MTV

Not covered here? Send it on WhatsApp and a person on the support desk will answer, any hour of the day.

Is MTV included in every IPTV Strong 8K plan?

Yes. All 4 plans carry MTV along with the rest of the 32,000+ channels. Nothing is priced channel by channel, so there's no add-on to buy.

Can I watch MTV on a TV without a cable box?

Yes. Any device that runs an IPTV player will do: Fire TV, Android TV and Google TV boxes, Apple TV, smart TVs from Samsung and LG, phones and computers. Roku is the odd one out because it can't install Android apps, so Roku owners usually mirror from a phone or add a streaming stick.

Does MTV show up in the TV guide?

The lineup's EPG covers about 99% of channels, so MTV normally shows the current program, its end time and what's next. If listings look off, check the time zone on your device.

Can I watch MTV on my phone away from home?

Yes. Install the same player on your phone and sign in with the same details. Up to 3 screens can play at once on one plan; on the 12-month length, two screens cost $200 in total instead of $125.

How fast can I be watching MTV after I order?

Usually within ten minutes. WhatsApp delivers the login in about 60 seconds; installing a player and signing in takes the rest.
