Bob Pro on TiVo Stream 4K: Have these ready

  • Your login from WhatsApp: server URL (with port), username and password
  • Unknown apps allowed for Downloader, only if Google Play does not list the app
  • Plan on about 10 Mbps for each HD stream and 25 Mbps for each 4K stream
  • A faster way to type: a USB or Bluetooth keyboard, or the remote app on your phone

Installing Bob Pro

Bob Pro on TiVo Stream 4K: Installing Bob Pro

  • Choose a plan on the pricing page and order on WhatsApp; your server URL, username and password arrive in about 60 seconds.
  • Open Google Play on the TiVo Stream 4K and install Bob Pro. If it's missing from the store, sideload it with Downloader after allowing unknown apps under Settings > Apps > Security & restrictions.
  • Select Add user or Add playlist in Bob Pro, choose Xtream Codes, and fill in the three fields from your login message: server URL with its port, username, password.
  • Let Bob Pro download the channel list and guide (a minute or two the first time), then add your regular channels to favorites.

What you'll see on first launch

Expect a short wait on first sign-in while Bob Pro downloads the playlist and guide. Then you'll see channel groups by category and country; open one, highlight a channel, and the guide shows what's on now and next.

Small tweaks, smoother playback

Bob Pro on TiVo Stream 4K: Small tweaks, smoother playback

  • Use the HDMI extender that came in the box if the port is cramped; it helps Wi-Fi reception and heat.
  • An Ethernet adapter is the biggest single upgrade for a stick on weak Wi-Fi.
  • Close apps you are not using; sticks have limited memory.
  • Buffer: a medium buffer of about 2 to 3 seconds smooths short dips without adding much delay.

If Bob Pro won't cooperate

Bob Pro on TiVo Stream 4K: If Bob Pro won't cooperate

  • "Invalid credentials": retype the server URL with http:// and the port, and check capital letters; the username and password are case-sensitive.
  • Channels but no guide: refresh the EPG in Bob Pro's settings, or give it a few minutes after the first sign-in.
  • Guide off by an hour or more: check the TiVo Stream 4K's time zone first, then the EPG offset in Bob Pro.
  • Picture but no sound: set the TiVo Stream 4K's audio output to stereo or PCM; some soundbars refuse surround passthrough from IPTV feeds.
