  • Your login from WhatsApp: server URL (with port), username and password
  • Unknown apps allowed for Downloader, only if Google Play does not list the app

  • Choose a plan on the pricing page and order on WhatsApp; your server URL, username and password arrive in about 60 seconds.
  • Open Google Play on the TiVo Stream 4K and install TiviMate. If it's missing from the store, sideload it with Downloader after allowing unknown apps under Settings > Apps > Security & restrictions.
  • Select Add user or Add playlist in TiviMate, choose Xtream Codes, and fill in the three fields from your login message: server URL with its port, username, password.
  • Wait for the first load to finish, open a channel to test it, and star the ones you watch most.

What you'll see on first launch

TiviMate shows a loading bar while it pulls the channel list, then opens on its home screen. Live TV, movies and series appear as separate sections, and the guide fills in over the next minute or two. On the TiVo Stream 4K, the first load is the slowest.

Troubleshooting

TiviMate on TiVo Stream 4K: Troubleshooting

  • "Invalid credentials": retype the server URL with http:// and the port, and check capital letters; the username and password are case-sensitive.
  • Picture but no sound: set the TiVo Stream 4K's audio output to stereo or PCM; some soundbars refuse surround passthrough from IPTV feeds.
  • Buffering on sports only: run a speed test on the TiVo Stream 4K. Below about 25 Mbps, use the HD version of the channel.
  • TiviMate closes on its own: clear its cache, restart the TiVo Stream 4K, and reinstall if it keeps happening.

Small tweaks, smoother playback

  • Use the HDMI extender that came in the box if the port is cramped; it helps Wi-Fi reception and heat.
  • Clear the player's cache from the system app settings if the guide starts lagging.
  • An Ethernet adapter is the biggest single upgrade for a stick on weak Wi-Fi.
  • Hide groups: remove countries and categories you never watch to speed up scrolling.
